Paul Haidle
Director of Strategic Advocacy

Paul Haidle is the Director of Strategic Advocacy at CGLA. Paul is a movement lawyer focused on racial justice, healing, and building power in community. As an attorney, his career has focused on dismantling systems of criminalization, especially at the intersections of homelessness, mental illness, policing, surveillance, and prison conditions.
Paul first joined CGLA as a volunteer law student in 2006 and eventually became the supervising attorney of the criminal records program at CGLA. Paul led the Association of Pro Bono Counsel Second Chance program providing free legal services, including executive clemency, for people with criminal records.
Paul has a long track record of working with community leaders to pass legislation such as solitary confinement reform, protecting immigrant youth, fair chance hiring, cannabis equity and expungement of criminal records.
Outside of work, Paul loves to cook, listen to music, and spend time in nature.
