Volunteers of the Year

Attorney Volunteers of the Year

Aliyar Durrani
Ali has volunteered more than 450 hours of his time and has made significant contributions to each of our four program areas.  In addition to consistently staffing the Expungement Help Desk and conducting satellite intakes, Ali has handled or assisted with 30 cases.

Theresa Buskey
Terri patiently sorts through complex records and statutes at the Expungement Help Desk in order to help qualifying individuals overcome their past and become more employable.  She has been staffing the desk at least once a week for the past three years, and knows as much about criminal records law as any attorney in Illinois.

Law Student Volunteers of the Year

Nick McCann (Loyola University Chicago Law School)
Nick regularly conducts civil, criminal, and executive clemency intake interviews and has impressed the CGLA staff attorneys with his ability to communicate with clients and provide a thorough analysis of complicated matters.

Greg Chavez (The John Marshall Law School)
Greg has volunteered a generous 70 hours of his time at the Expungement Help Desk during the school year.  The CGLA Criminal Record Attorneys describe him as a dedicated volunteer who builds great rapport with clients and who already has the skill set of a seasoned attorney.

Community Volunteer of the Year

Bridgette Farmer
Bridgette provides invaluable administrative support to the office staff by greeting clients and answering CGLA’s main telephone.  Her friendly smile is often the first thing our clients experience when they walk through the door.
